Mansion installed my driveway. Initially I was very pleased. But then it all went to pot. My concerns about some aspects of the installation were not addressed. Arif Choudry was obnoxious and insulting when I raised perfectly justified concerns. I also later received a threatening phone call from him when I refused to back down on an email I had sent to the Mansion claiming he was abusive. I was also threatened with legal action against me.
Worst yet. The "sister" drop kerb company Diton Surfacing, who Mansion recommended, failed to start the work, with delays of months. When the alarm bells rang I phoned all the local councils and the KCC and found that Ron Diton was NOT council approved, nor had he applied for permission to carry out the work.
Trading Standards are well aware of both of these companies after receiving previous complaints. Even the independant inspector for The Concrete Society has had run ins with Arif Choudry.
It is a real shame, as the actual driveway itself is quite good, apart from initial cracking (that seems to of stopped) and the discolouration (which I was told would fade with time but is just getting worse).
As for the drop kerb. I've been to the small claims court, it was decided Diton pay me in full. Yet predictably I have not received a penny back.
Considering the very poor customer relations skills, and the fact that their sister company failed to carry out the wory they were paid in full for, I would avoid using Mansion Driveways. Its simply not worth the risk and the resulting stress.
My advice would be to completely steer clear of this one-man band cowboy, namely Arif Choudry of Tonbridge. He likes to refer to himself as the Surveyor as he will claim that he is not the owner of the company when customers complain. (Regardless of the boastful claims he made to the contrary on Friends Reunited!) At some point he plucked the name of John Hurst out of the sky, and this has stuck when he finds himself in a sticky situation. Oh, and Mr Hurst lives abroad and is unobtainable it seems...he thinks he may be in Spain!!!!! Perhaps Mr Choudry would like to buy a one-way ticket to join him. You see, he is responsible for an absolute rubbish job in my back garden, and when I complained he was extremely bullish and rude. He shouts a lot (poor little thing...it probably gives him a well-needed boost!!) and displays a total disregard for the customer. I can't imagine he's ever done a decent days work in his life, and for him, I believe this impressed concrete lark is just easy cash in his pocket. (Pity we no longer have National Service!) As I don't like Bullies that I believe have taken advantage of others, I have seen him through the courts and won my case. He has twice made unsuccessful appeals, and must now pay up. When challenged he can be abusive and is inclined to make strange and rather random claims and statements. His communications from his Mansion Driveways 'Legal' department is a real hoot, as it is clear to me that they have been bashed out by him, but adds the name Samantha Hill on the bottom. This incidentally is the name of the person who answers the customer phone line...what a busy girl!! He also tried to take legal action against me for effectively taking legal action against him, but this was thrown out by Maidstone Crown Court in September, which has further increased his costs.
So.....there we go. Just a taster of our experience of Mansion Driveways!!
Of course we have no option to reply as your comments are deliberately vague and could have been posted bu anyone.
However, such random comments prove nothing, and, 'the workmen are great but the surveyor is rude' (?) serve to contractict you. Surveyors are there to give advice throughout the installation and you clearly have an issue with an individual (which you dont wish to air). Often you may disagree with a surveyor but at the end of the day they are there to do a job and ensure the end result is good.
Our firm is not the leader in the south for nothing and our customers over 15 years have proven that..unfortunately you cant please everyone all the time.
Your personal opinion of one person is not a true reflection but the end result and
'the workmen are great' is whats important to our firm...it keeps us number one.
Anyone doubting that can contact Trading Standards whom we meet with regularly. They will confirm that last year for example, they had 4 complaints. One of whch we are taking to court for libel as 90% is untrue and malicious. One was unfounded and two were so minor they were not taken further.
Personal opinion is one thing, proven track record and market leadership is proof of competance.
Mansion Driveways Tonbridge -
If they send a chap called 'Arif' to see you do not do business with him...i have never come across such a rude and offensive bully. The workmen are great but he is simply a menace. I would not recommend this company to anyone I am afraid
